Alva Rainsage

Sin'dorei Farstrider

What can be seen,

Race: Sin'dorei Gender: Female Age: Middle aged Birthday: March 20th Star Sign: Pisces Occupation: Farstrider House: Astralight Nicknames: Swift-Shot, Keeper of the Wilds, Thori'dal

Upon her form, she dons the colors of the forest. Various shades of leafy hues mix with the strength of the bark that upholds them, often in the form of leathers that bend to her shape however she needs. Her pride as a Farstrider rests within the curved intricate design of her bow, forged by her late husband who passed during the scourge. Anyone who glances at it can sense the love and devotion that went into crafting such a weapon, decorated with small trinkets and feathers, she takes incredible care of this heirloom of hers.Alva herself stands at an average height compared to her kin. Scars spin their stories upon her flesh, and carve into her fingers like weathered stone on the sea. Her eyes reflect the untamed magic she pulls from to bring forth the light to guide her hands with every arrow she knocks, and holds a fire deep set within her. Her hair, wild and untamed, rests just past her shoulders, and glistens with a bright starlit hue.Alva's personality is that of a diplomat. She is a wallflower for a better definition, and will watch quietly to await her answers. She is a stronger personality, firm in her beliefs, however she is fair and gentle to those who need it. She is a teacher, a mentor, and at one point, she was a mother. She speaks of her daughter with pride, though there is the heavy weight of her daughter's fate that may reflect in her eyes.

What can be taught,

"I was once the daughter to my father's house, House Dawngrove. We were a family full of powerful and skilled guardsmen who swore our devotion and lives to the Kings of old. I was never destined for any greatness further beyond my betrothal to my late husband. With him, I eventually found happiness, bearing an heir, and becoming the mother who'd eventually mold the successor. My husband showed me a kindness I never will understand to this day, for when I became a Farstrider, he was the sole person to support me in my choice. My family has forsaken me in some aspects, even if social standings call for their pride within me as a mother, a bride, and a loyal advocate to the Sin'dorei. Now, my late husband's house, House Glintfall, a house of great mages was whittled down from the scourge to merely myself, and our daughter after he fell in battle to the terrible day that the Dead Scar taints and stains our precious homeland forests. My husband blessed me with our daughter, a beautiful golden flower in the wreckage that I couldn't be more proud of. She was just as radiant as her father, and the many years I got to spend with her left me in utter bliss. Every day I could see her father in her, her talent for magic, her skill and incredible knowledge. When she told me she wanted to study in Dalaran with the Kirin Tor, I knew her father would jump at the opportunity for her. And so once she was old enough, I let her go.However, it is with the greatest of sorrows, I have found my flower to be wilted. Long gone before her prime, far beyond her reasonings. I pray to the Sunwell in hopes that she went with no pain, and give her peace in her last moments, and that when she left this world, she left with love.I am now the last of the Glintfall."

In stressful situations, there are some instances where her arrows fill will light and she shoots a powerful blow to her enemies, though this is incredibly rare.Tactful Advantage - Alva normally carries a smaller inventory of things. Bombs, knives, hell, even sticks. Should she ever run out of arrows, she'll have something to work with.Nature Guides - At times, Alva can commune with nature. Not quite as advanced as a druid, but enough to sense that something's wrong and have a general direction of where to go. Her days as a Farstrider gives her an advantage in her own ways.

The lost tribe

Rain DancersAn older tribe dedicated to be healers and guardians of sacred spaces in Valenwood, these people worship the land and protect it with everything they have. They're made up of a handful of hunters, but mostly elders who share the tales of the past amongst their young so that the old traditions may be passed on.Once they reach a certain age, it is often custom to decide your role amongst the tribe with the aid of the other elders. Typically they keep an eye on where you excel in during certain events and gatherings, and suggest a path from there.Hunters seek food and help with more physical protection of the green. They often gather as well, and they assist with forging weapons where as they aid with protection, they often focus on their agility and dexterity with their movements.Healers are people who call for rain with their dancing. The main source of their power comes from the aspect of water, and most times they will assist with mending broken trees, or broken limbs of their tribe mates. Most of these practices come from submerging the individual in water and using it as a catalyst to allow their healing magicks to flow into the pores of the sick and injured. Often a slow progress.A Green Warden is someone who focuses and dedicates their life to the Green and the creatures within its dwellings. Often referred to as druids. They keep up with the wild life, document progress, and work to keep the green thriving and alive.

Customs and culturePopular customs amongst the Rain Dancers include holding tribe gatherings to share a meal, share traditions, and even discuss new happenings with the tribe. They're a very social tribe that enjoys conversation, communication, and treating each other like family. When a member of this tribe comes of age, they are to make a pilgrimage to a sacred tree they believe was the first sung into existence by Y'ffre. They pay tribute, and drink from the waters that surround the ancient tree. It is believed that these waters will ensure good favors from Y'ffre so long as they continue their servitude and devotion to their home.Hunters, healers, and wardens are taken to the tree to be bathed with the waters, and take a second drink from it for protection, good health, and quick recoveries. It is said this water also assists with magic regeneration and ensures a larger pool for the healers and wardens. Hunters are said to be blessed with sharper senses and a stronger pull back.Once a month, usually towards the end, they will travel to the nearby lakes or beaches to dance for rain to quench the thirst of the jungles. Rhythmic stomping, loud shrill voices rumble from their throats, these members believe their dances will bring the healing waters. These dances are not done outside of these times, unless there is valid reasons. Funerals, fallen ancient trees, or even bonding ceremonies call for the dance to be performed.Dreams are an omen. Sometimes good, sometimes bad. Should a member have the same dream three times in a row, they must seek a healer to help assist with the interpretation of the dream using a scrying technique. Members should heed these warnings and omens. This tribe is very hospitable, and they often are sought out to be a mediator when other tribes are disputing. They take a firm neutral stand, and they often do not take sides, though because of this, when they return home, they can be a little gossipy amongst themselves.
